Uncertain People = Uncertain Times

by Viktor Saari on Thursday, March 25th, 2010

James 1:6-8

6But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Uncertainty, it is what fills the air of the entire world and nearly everyone breathes it in. Although, there are still those select few who resist to be pulled down to a set standard.

The media tells us that we are in a quote un-quote “recession” and this might be true; but what exactly does recession mean?Is the money just disappearing?

No, of course not, because that would be ludicrous thinking! The money is obviously going somewhere and why can’t it be straight into your pocket? I mean, I think that is a logical question, don’t you? The question I have for you is one I often ask myself and that question is; what am I giving that would incline others to give to me?

Now, this may seem to be a bit of a self-centered question but you have to look at it from the right point of view. You have to look at it from the standpoint of being the giver, rather than being the receiver.

Too often our problem comes from our outlook of wanting to have the solution and look to it; rather than looking to the method. What I mean by this is that success is a method, not a solution. If you think you are going to be successful just because you have everything figured out, you will most assuredly fail!

See, we become ineffective when we begin to be ruled by fear. Fear tells us to hold on and don’t let go, no matter what; but this is exactly why the world is now in the situation it is in!

It is this mentality that leads to the foreclosures of homes, the increase of the deficit and a lack of careers and jobs! The Bible gets it right it when it says from he that has not, even that which he has shall be taken away.

What does that mean? That means there has been potential put and established on the inside of you; but if fail to realize that, it will eventually die with you.

You have a gift to give the world and it is only when you give that gift that you empower others to do the same. See, in these uncertain times it is the lack of confidence that keeps the world from working. The media, our governments and the big money men have made us ashamed of ourselves and torn the very fabric of “oneness” and family apart!

The problem is we have let them by our lazy mentality and lack of respect for ourselves! We have taken the “serve me” approach much too far and we have become totally relied on all those who take action and are diligent about goals and accomplishment. We have nobody to blame but ourselves and have no excuses when it comes to why this has happened to “us”.

What ever happened to “We the people”? We must, as a people, take control of our countries and realize that is starts with us. We cannot let fear and shame rule anymore, rather we must rule ourselves. If we refuse to do this we will become slaves to the system. Be a contributor, be a provider and do not ask what someone can do for you, instead ask yourself what you can do for somebody else.

Genesis 1:26

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them havedominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Success Challenges You

by Viktor Saari on Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

When was the last time you were challenged? I mean when was the last time someone questioned who you are as a person, or questioned you about your work ethic and the quality of your work? And how exactly did you respond?

This happened to me the other day; I was critiqued on some work that I had taken pride in. Of course, this was my first problem. But it didn’t stop there however; I became sort of offended and then I started asking questions to myself.

(You know the same ones that always come when people give regarding you). Questions like; Who do you think you are telling me what to do? What gives you the right?, Other people aren’t even doing as good of job as I am, so why are you picking on me?

You know; the same old, self-centered questions that make us feel sorry for ourselves. It’s like we believe the world is against us or something.

Anyway, this is exactly how I felt. So I immediately got mad, got offended and so on and so forth…….

But I quickly realized something. Pride had gotten into my life. I realized that I had begun to see myself as being better than others. Sure, you may never want to admit that pride is in your life; but be honest with yourself; it will help you achieve your goals.

I also began realize that I associate who I am with my work. I guess I was beginning to think that what I did was who I was, and sometimes this is not necessarily true.

See, you’re more than a conqueror; but that doesn’t mean that you won all the battles. Sure, Jesus won the war; but there are still battles here in this life that we live. Just think; if there were no battles, there would be no need for faith and no need for the Word of God.

Just because you fail doesn’t mean you’re a failure. Just because you didn’t pass; doesn’t mean you’re stupid. All it means is you were un-informed or didn’t have the knowledge to complete the task correctly.

This can because of a variety of reasons; but they all come down to one common denominator: YOU didn’t do your home-work regarding the task that you were trying to complete.

So, the next time someone critiques you or your work; don’t get offended. Instead realize that it’s just their opinion and their trying to help you out; because they see that you have the potential to go somewhere and be somebody!

Proverbs 15:10

10Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.

THE SMALL THINGS

by Viktor Saari on Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

“You don’t know what you’ve got, until you lose it” – We have become a very ungrateful society, we always seem to desire more, and more is never enough. We have become totally self-centered, thinking of nobody but ourselves.

We have been given many things in our lives such as freedom, a place to live, and many other things that we take for granted. We have let this sickness creep into our Churches, our Godly families and our view of life.

It has bound Jesus Christ who is in us and it has made the power and authority He has given us; of no effect. We, in sense, have become unappreciative of the work of Jesus on the cross. We have taken for granted His ultimate sacrifice for us and believe that freedom is really something we deserve because of what we’ve done.

We must realize that it is only by Him that we move, live and have our very being. Let’s be grateful and come to an appreciation everyday of what Christ has done for us and keep our focus on Him. It will bring joy to our lives and bring us to an appreciation to what really matters in life.

I Timothy 6:6 6But godliness with contentment is great gain.
