WHAT’S THE GOOD NEWS?
Today I was thinking about people. When I look at a person I often wonder to myself; what made them who they are? Was there some defining point in their lives, some point that they believed was a point of no return? Or was it because one morning they woke up and were just tired of being the person they had been all their lives?
My question to you is; what has made you who you are up until this point in your life and do you believe this is the correct view of yourself? Now, I’m not trying to go into some “thought provoking” context; but I do believe we should take account for ourselves from time to time.
One thing that astounds me is how I can always see a problem with a person. It never seems to fail; I can always find some kind of fault in every person I meet.
I am beginning to realize that we all have our problems; but it is only a very select few that have solutions. I believe most people are defined by their problems and it’s because of this they fail to reach the solutions that will enable them to live a prosperous and healthy life.
There was and old quote that said “People seem to bring out the worst in people”. My question is why? Maybe it’s because all our life we have been taught to treat people like pop machines.
It’s the give them something; so you can get something in return mentality. It seems as though we have lost respect for each other and treat each other like dirt because all we can see is everybody’s problems.
We have lost unity in our families, unity in the Church and unity in our country. We are divided by our problems it seems and the sick part about it is that we believe these problems are who we are!
We have become a society that says “this is who I am and you have to accept me” rather than saying “What can I do to be a part of the cause so that we can bring our family, Church and Country into unity”?
It’s like one sports coach always said “The strength of the wolf is in the pack”. We need to get back to a place of unity. We need to find things that connect us with others. We must find the common goal of all believers and I believe that goal should be to salvation to go forth throughout our whole nation.
Matthew 7:12
12Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
