Build Your Dream!

Habakuk 2:2-3:

2And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. 3For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Maybe as a child you were told you could do anything. You believed this whole heartedly and actually began to picture yourself attaining your dreams. But as you grew older and began to pursue your dreams; they slowly started to disintegrate. You were told by friends and family members that what you were out to achieve was foolishness. But where did the dream come from? And why even now as you are reading this, does the dream inside of you manifest itself? You realize that the dreams you had as a child are alive and well and that they are exactly the same.

Why is it that you still have these foolish thoughts? These dreams are beyond human reasoning and are without a doubt unattainable. So why as a child did these dreams, these visions of greatness seem like it would be with a doubt, your reality? The Bible says if you are to enter the kingdom you must become like a child. It is this world that has put constraints on you. They have put you in a box and told you things must be done their way or they can not be done at all.

But there have been many great men and women that have changed the world. Einstein changed the world in his lifetime. Charles Lindbergh changed the world in his lifetime. Henry Ford changed the world in his lifetime. Moses changed the world in his lifetime and Jesus changed the world in his lifetime. So why can’t you change the world in your lifetime?

The problem is we let our dreams out of the bottle and expect others to understand. Realize that it is your vision, your dream and your dream is something very personal and it only applies to you. Too many times we let our dreams out of their bottles in the wrong way. We are overjoyed with excitement because of them and expect others to understand and take positions with us; to accomplish the dream we have. But they don’t, because it is not their dream, it’s your dream!

We get frustrated when we start out on our journey to the life that is deep within us and have nobody to back us, but rather have strong opposition. Moses faced opposition, when he felt had acted in a worthy cause. He killed an Egyptian who was beating a fellow Hebrew. But the next day when he saw his fellow Israelites and they asked if Moses was going to kill them also. Moses expected his people to understand, but they did not understand.

We too expect others to understand and when they don’t, they tear our dreams to shreds. See, Moses was meant to free his people from the torture of slavery. This was a seed of the vision and the dream Moses had deep within himself. The problem was he looked to others to confirm it.

We also cannot look to others to confirm the vision that is deep within us, because this vision that is on the inside of us comes from the Almighty God and it is only by doing and acting upon His will that will bring our vision to a reality. Because as I have given you all this time to think, and with all the understanding you now have, how would you accomplish the vision that is deep inside your heart?

You realize now, years later, you still have no idea how to bring the dream of your childhood to pass. You think to yourself that I am too old anyway, and no longer have what it takes. But may I remind you that Moses at age 80 led his people out of slavery and Abraham at the age of 100 fathered a son. They brought their vision to pass after it had been given to them by the almighty God.

So what’s you’re problem? It is not time that brought the fulfillment of the vision to pass for Moses and Abraham; rather it was doing the will of God in their lives. And yes, you have been through a lot in your life, but realize all great men have one thing in common, they have overcome. They have followed their dreams and have continued toward the fulfillment of the vision given by Almighty God.

Great men are dreamers, they let the vision given by the almighty God consume their very being, and it is what accelerates their lives. So what is your dream? What is the vision that God has given you and have you pursued it? Have you let others get in the way of the vision?

Isaiah 64:4:

4For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
